I’m the third generation of my family to enter the insurance business, and the first to specialize in health insurance and employee benefits. The rest of the family was focused on property and casualty insurance, but I found that my passion lay on the life and health side of the fence.

Today, my work is focused on helping individuals, families, and employers across Northeast Ohio make confident, well-informed healthcare coverage decisions.

I lead a team that has educated and enrolled more than 1,500 individuals into Medicare plans throughout the Mahoning Valley. We have helped hundreds of businesses in Ohio and Pennsylvania offer thoughtful, sustainable employee benefits plans, and we have worked with more individuals than we can count to help them navigate their health plan options under the Affordable Care Act.

I am a member of several organizations within our industry, including the National Association of Independent Insurance Brokers (NABIP), Health Rosetta, and the NextGen Network. These groups are each working, in different ways, to improve how healthcare serves employers, families, and communities. That commitment also led me to produce the documentaries It’s Not Personal, It’s Just Healthcare and Side Effects May Include, which explore many of the structural challenges within today’s healthcare system and the opportunities to create greater transparency, affordability, and long-term sustainability.

In addition to my local advisory work through Insurance Navigators, I also share broader healthcare strategy, research, and consulting insights through JohnWoods.Health, a separate platform focused on helping organizations better understand and improve the systems that drive healthcare cost and quality.

More recently, I have been involved in community efforts to preserve access to care in our region, including advocacy surrounding Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital following Steward Health’s bankruptcy.

Above all, my goal is simple: to provide clear guidance and dependable support to the people and organizations who trust our team with some of the most important healthcare and financial decisions they will ever make.
